IMPACT OF WORKSHOPS ON TEACHERS/EDUCATORS:
Pre and post program surveys are conducted to measure the impact of the workshop. It was interesting to see that participants who knew nothing to very little about the SDGs walked away with deep understanding of the 17 SDGs and Ways to apply the SDGs in their lives and also integrating with the subjects that they teach. This ensures regular reinforcement of the goals.
Here are some of the key outcomes of the survey, in general:
1. Understanding of all the participants about the SDGs increase to around 80% after the workshop.
2. The extent to which teachers believed that integrating SDGs is important increase significantly to 94% after the workshop
3. Post the workshop, the confidence level of teachers increases to 88% about including SDGs in their teaching practices
4. Lack of resources like books is the most important challenge teachers anticipate for which we provide ‘Be the Change’ books. Direction from the government and resistance from the management are the other hurdles teachers anticipate.
5. Over 90% teachers believe that including SDGs will contribute to students’ development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
6. And MOST IMPORTANTLY, 95% teachers believe that this training helps them understand SDGs and their importance in school curriculum
